Course
International Divine College of Education offers a 2 year full time Bachelor of Education degree approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi and Government of Punjab. The college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and follows its norms, course structure and rules. The course work is divided into 3 parts here as under:
Part I ( of 700 marks): It consists of 7 theory papers, out of which 5 are compulsory and 2 relate to teaching subjects based on subjects studied by the candidates in graduation.
Part 2 (of 300 Marks): It consists of skill in teaching, the assessment of which is based on 200 marks (2 x 100) on the basis of performance in 2 teaching subjects in final practical exam conducted by external examiner and 100 marks internal (2 X 50) on the basis of performance in both subjects during teaching practice, delivering micro and macro lessons, file preparation, assignments etc.
Part 3 (of 200 marks): It is based on Sectional work under the following modules:
- Work Experience (50 marks) any one out of Gardening, Needlework, Interior decoration and Computer Craft.
- Black Board writing and sketching (50 marks).
- Games and Sports (50 Marks).
- Community Service (25 marks).
- Co Curricular activities (25 marks)
Important University Rule: It is mandatory for all students to attend 75% lectures and pass in both term exams held in the college to be eligible to sit in for final examination of the university.
Future Career Scope of B.Ed
Education is an ever-increasing field. The Bachelor of Education is a must degree to get into teaching profession at the school level. The course prepares a student to work in secondary and senior secondary schools.
Eligibility Criteria
Student must possess a 3 year bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University. Admission to the Bachelor of Education course is completely based on merit in the qualifying exam with eligibility criteria of 50 % for general category and 45 % for SC/ST/OBC category as per conditions laid down by NCTE, Delhi.
The college has a total of 100 seats out of which 85% of the seats are reserved for students having Punjab domicile and 15% seats are for students of other states. The management quota consists of 15 % seats out of the 85% Punjab quota.
Admission Procedure
Admissions of candidates are done on the basis of merit of qualifying exam as per directions of the Government of Punjab. The reservation policy of Government of Punjab is followed for filling the seats against various categories. The seats are filled in the joint counseling conducted by the Federation of Self Financing Colleges of Punjab for nearly 150 colleges of Punjab through online counseling conducted on the website www.bedpunjab.org.
